CECILIA'S DAY...November

LET'S PUT TOGETHER OUR EFFORTS

St. Cecilia School Handbook

I. PHILOSOPHY, VISION, MISSION, BELIEF STATEMENTS AND GOALS OF ST. CECILIA SCHOOL:

A. PHILOSOPHY
Believing that Catholic education is an expression of the evangelizing mission entrusted by Jesus to the Church. St. Cecilia School strives to fulfill its apostolic service to the students who attend the school within the framework and philosophy of Catholic education and in the light of the Gospel.

St. Cecilia School believes  that successful education depends primarily on the competence of its teachers, especially when bolstered by the positive attitude of students and cooperation of parents in the education of their children. This education will occur only within a genuine community at home and in the school in "a special atmosphere animated by the Gospel spirit of freedom and love..."" (Declaration on Christian Education, Vatican II)

All members of the St. Cecilia School community are committed to the development of the whole child - spiritual, moral, intellectual, physical, and social. This position springs from the fundamental purpose of all Catholic education, namely, to prepare the child for life here and in the hereafter. In seeking to develop the whole child in all of his or her capacities. St. Cecilia School tries to include in the curriculum a wide variety of experiences. These experiences are calculated to develop the ideals, attitudes, and habits demanded to Christians to live lives of justice, peace and service in Chuuk, Micronesia and beyond in the larger global society.
